Sad news

Hello, it’s Carter Zhang here.

Due to my carelessness, my OpenPGP key has been compromised, and I have revoked it. For details, please see this blog post.

I will be using a new identity, Rebel Zhang <rebel1725@autistici.org>, from now on. However, there is no way to prove that this identity is the same as my previous one, so you must decide whether to trust it yourself. You are on your own.

You have three options:

1. Bid farewell: If you are unwilling to trust my new identity, we must part ways. I am reluctant to say goodbye, but all good things must come to an end. In my absence, may your journey through life be filled with fulfilment and joy.

2. Continue: If you choose to trust my new identity, we may remain in contact. However, you are encouraged to verify my identity to some extent—for example, by checking my national identity card or meeting me in person. Please note that by accepting my new identity, you do so at your own risk.

3. Treat it as someone else: You may also engage with “me” under the assumption that this new identity belongs to an entirely different individual, refusing to acknowledge any link with the former identity. This is the approach I adopted when someone named Hayden Wu claimed to be Peaksol — the identity that was compromised and revoked on 22 April 2025.

Here’s what you can do next:

To import the revocation, please run gpg --refresh-keys 46592D6A02E9F6F2D65E9CD806F430C0B77FC2B9 on your computer, or use OpenKeychain on your phone.
